Warning: Contains scene of torture (not against H&H) that may not be suitable for the faint of heart. For the last seven years, Shame has been cut off from his family who believe that he’s dead, but now he’s free. All he wants is to be with his wife and daughter again but when he arrives home he finds them both dead. Murdered. Slaughtered in their home. As his heart is full of hate, he seeks vengeance against those that did this. Due to a harsh winter storm, Gail is forced to pull a double shift at the motel. She is not expecting any travellers so when the door opens and two gorgeous men walk in, she’s both excited and disappointed when it’s obvious that they’re lovers. Shame and Ty are on the hunt and the last thing that Shame expects is Gail and his reaction to her. When Ty winds up missing, he turns to her for help. But Gail has a secret of her own, one more devastating than he can ever imagine. Amanda Young is one of my favorite authors and so when I found out that Shame’s story was going to be told, I couldn’t wait to read it. It is everything that I’d hoped it would be and more. The beginning of the story, where Shame discovers the bodies of his wife and child, is tragic and heart breaking. His resolve to find the murderer and exact vengeance is justified and I was glad to see it done. Gail is a sweet woman with a heart of gold, regardless of the harsh things she’s experienced that could have turned her into a cold, bitter person. I think that they’re a perfect match and know that their love will stand the test of time. The love scenes are intense and so hot that my laptop almost overheated a time or two. Without a doubt, Shameful is a must read. |
