Layla is running for her life. Everyone wants to get their hands on her - from the government to the rulers of the underground. So far she has been surviving on luck, which hasn’t been so good, and the talents ingrained in her by the government. But Layla’s luck is about to run out … the most competitive bounty hunters have been sent after her and are now looking for her right where she is hiding – Settler’s Mine. Still, life has more surprises in store for her when she discovers that her best chance of survival rest on the two men looking for her. Orion and Balt have a good thing going between them as rivals for the richest bounties. However, when this last bounty brings them to Settler’s Mine and their rivalry has them using the local talent to distract each other, both Orion and Balt find themselves in the unique situation of having to work together. But will they be able to do so without falling into old habits of one-upmanship? The Rivals is a fantastic sci-fi ménage romance. We have action, subterfuge and hot steamy sex to create a compelling romance that will keep you turning the pages. Mechele Armstrong melded all these elements to bring to life a fascinating universe for her characters to inhabit. Layla is a headstrong woman capable of fending for herself, but caught in a nightmare. Orion and Balt are Alpha males who are fascinating in their strength, but also very appealing for their ability to cede control during their moments of passion. When these three finally come together they will sear you with their passion and leave you sweating at the end of each encounter. I found myself by turns at the edge of my seat, flushed from passion and heart-broken by the suspense, passion and love that these three share. From the very beginning I got a clear sense of the budding love and passion between Layla, Orion and Balt and it was very satisfying to see them come together in such explosive passion as a true ménage. The Rivals is a great beginning for a series and I hope we get to see more of this universe. Get yourself The Rivals when you go shopping, you will find this wonderful universe and the characters irresistible! |
