Dean Wellern leads a perfectly ordinary life. However, the day Dean resigns from his job strange things start happening to him. First, a weird looking man starts following him as he walks home. Then, Dean is bumped into by a strange man who offers to share his cab with him and seems to be able to hear his thoughts. But the truly puzzling thing is that he has started to “see” things that can’t be real; that really has to be his imagination getting away from him. And to top it all off, there is a cat that seems to come and go as she pleases through a window that refuses to remain closed. Bedevilled is a great piece of serial fiction and I’m eagerly looking forward to the next installment. Dean is a regular Joe who all of a sudden finds himself in extraordinary circumstances. I can’t wait to find out what happens next as J. Emberglass has done a wonderful job of creating a plot that will suck you in and leave you in suspense at the end of the chapter. Note: This is a chapter book and as such you only get a small piece of the plot in each installment. |
