Simone Chavez is a powerful Empath that is frustrated that all men seem to notice about her is her beauty.  When she meets Kael, she senses his intense rage and while she’s drawn to him, his comments and actions seriously test her patience and levels of tolerance.

At the tender age of six, Kael Gardener watched his entire family be slaughtered by vampires. At the age of 15 he became a vampire hunter.  Never staying in one place for too long and enduring more heartache at the hands of the Oathbreakers than one person should have to.

The crackling intensity between Simone and Kael caused me to read Vengeance Due in one sitting.  I couldn’t stop turning the pages to see what would happen next.  The depth of emotion shared by them was immense and powerful.  Kael’s tragic past but hope for his future was beautiful to watch develop and heartwarming to experience.  Simone's loving heart and ability to understand Kael made her a wonderful half to their whole.  Their love scenes were not only hot but also were some of the most poignant ones I’ve ever read.  Vengeance Due made me laugh, made me cry and more importantly made me believe in the power of forgiveness and love.

Watching the Witches Knot series develop has been a delightful treat.  As the stories progress and become more and more intertwined, I keep hoping for more relatives to be introduced so that more books will be added to this series!  While the books in the Witches Knot series do not have to be read in order, it makes for a much more enjoyable experience to do so.  Lauren Dane’s fantastic sense of humor bleeds through in the most interesting of situations and will cause you to laugh out loud when you least expect it.  According to the author’s website, Thrice United – Book Four in the Witches Knot series will be coming out December 20, 2006 and I can’t wait!
