Sam Raintree has been working for Bay City Paranormal Investigations for three months. He’s been lusting after his boss, Bo Broussard, the entire time as well. An even bigger problem than Bo being in the closet is that he’s married, with kids. When Dean Delapore shows up to interview for a job, things become even more confusing. Add in disappearing children and memories from the Oleander House that haunt the entire team and at times, things become entirely overwhelming. While What Hides Inside is written as a stand alone, I strongly recommend reading Oleander House so that you have the complete story of Sam and Bo as well as an understanding of the dynamics of the rest of the team. Ally Blue has a definite talent for writing heart-in-your-throat suspense with a huge dose of paranormal and a liberal splash of horror. I was captivated by the relationship between Sam and Bo and wasn't always sure what would happen with them next even though I kept on hoping for a happy ending. Their feelings and emotions are very real and coupled with the background story, I was very pleased with this story. Dean is an amazing character and I hope that more of his story can be told in upcoming releases.
