Holden can’t believe that Jill is back in town. He wonders until she speaks to him if this is another case of his mind playing tricks on him. He spent his life in the lime light in case she needed to find him and there was no question that the day she disappeared, she took his heart and soul with her. He has never gotten over the fact that she never told him that she was leaving and he never heard from her again. And now he sits across from her wondering why and how after all these years he could still love her so much he hurts. Jill came to Holden with news. Some good and some not so good, but she had to come to him for the safety of her son, of their son. After years of amnesia a bump on her head brought back her memories including her life with Holden and the reason she left with her father that night so long ago. Now they have some decisions to make together, but the emotions that are still as strong and intense as they ever were between them seem to find a way of making things more complicated. Can Holden control the beast within himself that pushes him to stake his claim on his woman and never mind the consequences? Will Jill make it through her medical issues intact and if so can she overcome the emotional ones that linger and whisper in her ear to run even while her soul realizes it’s already home. You just can not miss Into His Keeping. Gail Faulkner has created characters so true to life that their emotions crawl off the pages of this book and touch your heart. You can’t help but see the beauty that was the meeting, growing, and budding of their relationship; the tragedy of the past that tore them apart to begin with leaving Jill no other option but to sever ties with the man who held her heart and soul; and the sad circumstances that Jill finds herself in today that could take it all away just when she finds her soul again. There are not words to describe the depth of a relationship that spans the years, makes men out of young boys, creates life, and sustains a person through lonely dark times. I was not only touched by the intensity of the connection between Holden and Jill, but left aching with need from the steamy, intense, and hotter then hot sexual relationship that they have. I can’t recommend Into His Keeping highly enough but would recommend that you keep the tissue close and get ready for this intensely emotion and sexually fulfilling read. |
