Mark Paulson is a young PhD candidate working in an industry-sponsored internship. His boss and advisor Sanjay has just informed him that he might be better off looking for employment opportunities elsewhere, which leaves Mark flabbergasted. But, Sanjay points him in the direction of an old acquaintance who now owns a company in a related field. This acquaintance is looking to fill a position that might prove to be interesting if Mark is willing to take a chance.  When Mark goes on the interview he is surprised by being interested in the job, as well as his prospective boss, Steven.

Steven Frost is a man in his forties that has become a captain of industry, but in the process he has moved away from his primary passion, science. He is looking for a PA that can handle all the administrative details of running his office as well as all the scientific minutiae on his day-to-day work load. Steven is hoping to be able to rely on the PA to help where someone without a scientific background wouldn’t be able to manage. When Mark walks into his office Steven is certain that he has found the perfect PA. Just one snag, since they are both openly gay they will feed the rumor mill regardless of how correctly they behave themselves.

Mark and Steven all very attracted to each other, but how to handle it? The age difference and they obvious problems of having an affair with an underling make Steven hesitate, even though he is fairly sure that the attraction is mutual. However, Mark is sure of what he wants. Once Mark determines that if they follow through to where their attraction might take them it won’t affect their working relationship, Mark becomes determined pursue Steven.
