Warning:  Contains violence (non-sexual) and gore – may not be suitable for the faint of heart.

Lannie Michaels had never been happier.  She’s found the love of her life and she knows that he’s about to propose because she saw him picking out the ring.  When Kyle comes home, full of accusations, Lannie is devastated and leaves.  How can she be with someone that she can’t trust or doesn’t trust her?  She winds up in a town named Nowhere and uses her sculpting as an outlet for her betrayal and heartache.

Kyle Sylia realizes his mistake almost as quickly as he made it but the damage is done.  Lannie is gone and without his mate to ground him, his emotions continue to become more and more volatile.

I couldn’t help but think that while Going Nowhere 1:  Howling In The Moonlight was well written, it still seemed a bit choppy. As for the storyline, the idea of two individuals on the cusp of engagement that barely knew each other was disturbing but I suppose that was attributed to their chemistry. Brenda Bryce has a knack for description that evokes feeling and after the first 30 pages, I was charmed by Lannie’s wry sense of humor and hoped for an exciting story.  Throughout the story, I actually found myself laughing out loud as once Ms. Bryce got going; there was no end to the entertainment.  The history of the shifters was also interesting and refreshing and Lannie’s first animalistic experience was hilarious.  Kyle is not the stereotypical werewolf and I’m not sure if I liked that or not but it was interesting.    The scene where Lannie was diving from place to place looking for cover was hilarious and one of the funniest I’ve read in a long time.  Lannie and Kyle, while not immature, seemed a bit “young” for their roles and responsibilities but will hopefully mature and adapt as the series progresses.
